Our management team consists of two very experienced managers and two deputy managers. We also have a fully qualified Early Years teacher, two SENCOs, a fully qualified safe guarding lead, a head of unit and each area has a head of room.
Nearly all nursery staff are Level 3 qualified or above, all are police checked (DBS) and have training in first aid, safeguarding, basic food hygiene. Our auxiliary staff include an admin, cooks, cleaners and a maintenance team.
Our Mini Pre-School is located within the main building and our Big Pre-School is a short walk down the road.
You are welcome to phone or visit the nursery at any time. Each day we complete day sheets which detail your child's day at nursery. We hold parents information evenings & various meetings with staff to keep you up to date with your child's development. We use Tapestry - an online learning journal which allows you to track you child's progress across the seven areas of learning and development. It is a simple, secure system that is a record of children's achievements by allowing observations and photos to be uploaded.
Before your child starts at Sunflowers it is important that they settle into nursery and get to know their key worker. To facilitate this we will arrange for you to bring your child to the nursery for three 'settling in' visits. This will enable you and your child to become confident and familiar with staff and the other children, as well as the daily routines of nursery.
At Sunflowers Nursery, security of the children is very important to us. We will expect you to pick your child up unless we are told by you of an alternative carer. We operate a photograph or password system should you wish to do this.
At Sunflowers Nursery we advise you to keep your child away from nursery if they are ill. We cannot accept children who are ill with infectious complaints. Complete details of exclusions are included in the Parents Handbook.
